Fairly Rare-vintage 1950 MacGreger (GCB) baseball glove- spider web- flex pad-RHT. Original owner selling this really nice MacGreger 5 finger Right Hand thrower glove. Purchased in 1954 - The GCB was at the time a near custom Style non-pro. Glove.
MacGreger in 1944 was known as ( MacGreger -Goldsmith. In1952 Goldsmith was dropped. 1961 MacGreger remain- Until it.became a division of Brunswick Corporation.
The GCB FEATURES:
* spider web . *flex pad natural pocket * left thumb wrist lock Loop - patented at the time! MacGreger MFG. stamps on the glove are:
(custom built -GCB-flex pad- natural pocket-wrist lock loop-spider web double laced and has the MacGreger stitched label- Cincinnati -Ohio (Made in USA . All authentic makings. The condition Used, leather in still pliable condition for age, original rolled leather piping, all adjustable straps still functional. The owner played hardball1956 till 1964. Then used on and off 1964 to 1972. Glove was store well with a ball in the pocket.he played- second base, short stop and left field position. Glove is still total functional or to be owned as a collectible.
NOTE: the glove has the owners name imprinted at the inner wrist area( Aris Nichols) - AKA my Hubby. Hoping it finds a nice home! PS- old hard ball included!
