26mm Baseball Glove

Up for sale is an all handmade 26mm Baseball Glove Watch Strap, made by me (Mott Straps). The glove used for this strap was a Made in the USA autograph Ed Kranepool Rawlings Trapper baseball glove.  Kranepool played all 18 seasons for the New York Mets.  He was an All Star in 1965, a World Series Champ in 1969 and is in the New York Mets Hall of Fame.  The glove used for this strap is a harder to find Rawlings Trapper model with some amazing logos.  Even if you’re not a Mets fan, the Rawlings Trapper logos really make this strap stand out. This baseball glove strap measures 26mm (no taper), 82 mm x 132 mm x ~3.7 mm thick.   I stitched this strap with red Tiger thread, the best waxed polyester thread available.  Edges were burnished smooth. This strap features “Big T Trapper” on the buckle side and “The Rawlings Trapper” on the long side.  The strap comes with three floating keepers: “Ed Kranepool” and “Autograph” which are normal size and an XL keeper “Rawlings Made in the USA”. I usually punch holes starting at 50mm from the lug end, but for this strap, the first hole is ~53 mm.  It’s an odd measurement, because I used the existing hole from the glove itself, as seen in the in-process picture.  Extra holes can be punched upon request. The strap comes with a stainless steel custom Mott screw-in Pre-V style buckle.  I also have bronze buckles, which can be exchanged at no additional charge.  If not specified, the strap will ship with a steel buckle. Sizing :  Baseball glove straps that are over 4.5mm tend to wear a bit smaller than their dimensions, since most OEM straps are less than 4 mm thick.  If you’re on the fence, I suggest you go with a longer strap or reach out about a custom strap. Most of my 24mm and 22mm straps will also work with Apple watches.  I can test fit adapters on them to make sure there is enough clearance.  Please ask before purchasing. Why Baseball Glove Straps? Baseball gloves are soft, thick and only get better with time. What better material to make into a watch strap?! The glove and thus the strap is soft yet durable and has acquired patina and character during its lifetime. The strap is made 100% from the glove it came from, making each strap a limited edition!  Mott Straps is the only strap maker using the glove for the entire strap - even the bottom layer.  You get the look and the feel of a baseball glove with a Mott Strap. The softness of glove leather makes the thickness work well on any watch, but especially with larger watches such as Panerai, Kaventsmann, Ennebi, Omega, etc.
